We are seeking dynamic and motivated Data Centre Network Commissioning and Testing Engineers who will report to a Senior Manager and will be directed by Project Management and TTS Leads. The Data Centre Network Commissioning and Testing Engineer will be responsible to turn up and test Ciena 6500.

• Candidates need to be local, role based on-site, 5 days a week.
• Work in AWS Red Zones on Metro 6500 Deployments.
• Requires strong knowledge of OLS (Optical Line Systems).
• Ability to read and understand Signal Flow Drawings is a must.
• Ability to troubleshoot optical issues such as loss, ORL/Reflection/power deviations, miss fibering etc.
• Proper fibre cleaning/scoping knowledge is a must.
• Will use Optical power meters, VFL for troubleshooting.
• Ability to use OTDR and an understanding of OTDR outputs.
• Will be using AWS Automation/Workflows so will need a strong aptitude to jump in and use new platforms.
• Must be able to work independently without constant guidance.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ciena 6500 commissioning and turn up experience preferred.
• Work closely with the Ciena Project Management team and will provide them with technical advice as needed.
• Resolve complex technical problems and will escalate issues to the next level of support when necessary.

Skills required

Requirements

• Technical Degree or bachelor’s degree (CS,EE), or relevant equivalent work experience.
• Min 7+ years working with field deployment team and service partners is desired.
• Fundamental knowledge of various Ciena products, possess a strong technical aptitude, and have a desire to learn new products and technologies.
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent Customer Service interaction skills.
• Ability to work in a collaborative environment.
